web site counter

Postby Kurt » Tue May 05, 2015 1:45 pm

Is thee a simple counter that will not report back to some unknown entity?
I'm working on somebody else's site and don't want to have their site exploited by some "free" web site counter that tracks people coming to their site.
The site uses yahoo small business for their domain and hosting.
I make small changes to the html code about once a month to update their newsletter.

I never publish(ed) a counter on a site. That's information for the site owner and not for the visitors IMHO. Any non-free hosting company has a lot of statistic packages available/installed that give the owner all the info about the number of visitors and more.

Maybe I need to look into the site more and see if it has stats on individual pages.

I'm only concerned about one webpage.

Thanks for the thoughts.
