Can I use computer for a sound recorder?

Postby uniontractor » Tue Nov 27, 2007 12:45 am

Is it possible to use my computer with xp as a sound recorder? Is there a free program that will do this? What do I need except for a mike?
There is a sound recorder application on my computer now but it only will record for a few seconds. I do have a sound card and a cheap mike. I would like to record my voice for longer periods of time, such as for taking notes, etc.

Salmoneye gave you a great link. I have never used it but I have also heard that it is a great program to get you going.
